Which costs more: new desktop or new laptop?

i'm getting a dinosaur of a desktop in my rooma dn i was wondering if a new desktop costs more than a new laptop. and im not asking for a cpu with like a bunch of special features im just asking if a simplke laptop would cost more than a simple desktop
